PERFORMANCE
Jeep Renegade

Jeep and Ford are both known for their powerful engines and advanced capabilities both on the street and off-road. However, you’ll find some differences when it comes to the exact numbers.

Engine Similarities vs. Differences

Engine-wise, these two vehicles are roughly on the same level; however, the Jeep Renegade eeks out an advantage by having 210 lb-ft of torque, compared to the Bronco Sport’s 180 lb-ft. This gives the Renegade a leg up in acceleration and towing.

Speaking of towing, the Renegade comes with a Class III trailer hitch that allows it to have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. In comparison, the Bronco Sport base model isn’t rated for towing, and you’ll have to move up to a more expensive trim level— Big Bend—to match the Renegade’s towing capacity.

Fuel Efficiency

When it comes to conserving fuel, the Renegade takes the lead with its inclusion of Engine Stop/Start technology. This tech activates when the vehicle comes to a complete stop and power to the engine is cut off, preventing it from burning important fuel.

You end up saving fuel this way, as the engine doesn’t roar to life again until you remove your foot from the pedal. The Bronco Sport does not have this feature.

INTERIOR
Jeep Renegade

Other than power, what are SUVs like the Bronco Sport and the Renegade known for? If you said comfortable interiors, you’re correct! With their large dimensions and enhanced amenities, you can easily sit back and relax in either model.

Standard Amenities

The Bronco Sport leads off with a manual climate control—single-zone feature that keeps you comfortable throughout the year. While this certainly is a good start, it pales in comparison to the Renegade.

The Renegade offers a dual-zone temperature control feature that creates zones of comfort for both you and your front passenger. Plus, it’s automatic, while the Bronco Sport offers a manual system.

Additional Comfort

In addition, the base trim of the Jeep Renegade offers more features than the Ford Bronco Sport. For instance, you can opt for the available heated front seats and the available 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat.

While the Bronco Sport does offer these features, they aren’t available on the base trim, so you’ll need to upgrade to get them.

TECHNOLOGY
Jeep Renegade

Now that we’ve talked power and amenities, what about technology? You likely use technology in many aspects of your life. When it comes to your vehicle, this can come into play with both the infotainment systems and the safety features.

High-Tech Safety

The Bronco Sport and the Renegade each come with a handful of impressive safety features. In fact, both models show off their own versions of these high-tech systems:

  • Automatic High Beams
  • Rear View Camera
  • Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection

These features can help you practice safety when you’re driving around town or heading out on a road trip.

Entertainment

While the Bronco Sport has a SYNC® 3 infotainment system, the Jeep Renegade offers a very similar system with Uconnect® 4C NAV. Both models come standard with Navigation, Apple CarPlay ®and Android Auto™ connectivity, and six speakers.

However, the 8.4-inch screen in the Jeep Renegade is slightly bigger than the 8-inch screen of the Bronco Sport.
