Jeep Compass Oil Change Lewisburg, PA
We'll first discuss oil changes. The 2019 Compass is equipped with an automatic oil change indicator system, which takes out the guesswork when it comes to oil changes.Â
The indicator system will light up when an oil change is needed. Typical operating conditions means the car can last up to about 10,000 miles before needing the oil changed, but that may need to be adjusted depending on how the car is driven.
For example, if the Compass is used for shorter trips or is frequently used for towing, the oil change light could come on after 3,500 miles of driving.Â
When it comes to changing the oil, never exceed 12 months/10,000 miles. When the indicator light turns on, we'll reset the system and perform other maintenance, if necessary.
That may include:
- Battery inspection
- Tire rotation
- Brake system check
- Exhaust system maintenance
2 Years/20,000 Miles
After driving for two years, the brake linings and parking brake functionality should receive an inspection.Â
The parking brake should be ready to use, while the brakes should be ready for any braking situation.Â
The cabin air filter will also need replacement at this stage.
This filter prevents dust and pollen from reaching the cabin, but can become blocked after a few years of use. A new one will ensure you're able to breathe clearly.
The front and rear axle fluid will be inspected, too. This oil is needed to lubricate the axles and keep all the drive components at a steady temperature.
3 Years/30,000 Miles
The engine air filter keeps contaminants and sludge from reaching the engine. But, like the cabin air filter, it needs replacement to keep things clean.Â
A clean filter will keep dust, dirt, and other pollutants from reaching the engine, so oil can do its job properly.
10 Years/100,000 Miles
Spark plugs have one important job: to make sure the engine starts up every time.Â
However, if you've felt the engine misfiring or the car struggles when you press the start button, it could be due to worn spark plugs.Â
Decreased fuel efficiency can also be the sign of a spark plug issue.
Worn spark plugs can cause the battery to work harder, which in turn, drains it faster. We'll replace the spark plugs after 100,000 miles.
